New York Giants co-owner John Mara offered an update Tuesday on the team’s ongoing contract negotiations with wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
“It’s not the first contract negotiation we’ve nfl jersey for cheap ever had,” Mara said, according to ESPN.com’s Jordan Raanan. “It will get done when it’s supposed to get done.”
Beckham, whose name surfaced in trade rumors prior to the NFL draft, will earn $8.5 million in the final year of his rookie contract. Without an extension, he will become an unrestricted free agent next spring.
And while Giants head coach Pat Shurmur has said Beckham will “absolutely” be with the Giants this season, according to NFL Network’s Kimberly Jones, his future beyond that remains uncertain. nfl jerseys cheap authentic
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo previously reported Beckham is seeking a contract that will pay out no less than $20 million annually, and he added he “[doesn’t] see any way” the Giants will agree to pony up that figure.
Still, Mara’s comments Tuesday suggest the Giants are intent on trying to find some middle ground in hopes of keeping one of the league’s premier game-breakers in tow.
